Horticultural Grower:

Position Summary

Responsible for the growing of ornamental plants, a wide variety of bedding and spring hanging baskets and flowers. Determine plant growing conditions, such as environment, planting date and care schedules. Identify plants as well as problems such as diseases, weeds, and insect pests. Tour work areas to observe work being done, to inspect crops, and to evaluate plant and soil conditions. Apply pesticides and fertilizers to plants. Responsible for spraying, feeding, soil tests and general operation duties. Supervise 20-30 employees in preparation and minimum shipping of finished crops.

Experience

At least 5 years of experience as a Horticultural Grower in a wholesale or greenhouse operation.
