Spathiphyllum
Spathiphyllum is Greek for leaf-spathe, referring to the character of the spathe, which is the bract or leaf surrounding or subtending a thick, protruding flower cluster (spadix). Easy to care for, with beautiful glossy green leaves and the unusual ability to blossom in medium light, these are first-class indoor plants. The pure white flower that they bear changes to pale green after 10 days and then remains lovely for at least another month.
Additional:
Plants should have been grown in 70 to 80 percent shade if produced in Florida-like climates. Petioles (leaf stalks) should be of sufficient caliper to support the leaves without bending excessively.
Growing and Maintenance Tips:
Temperature - Indoor room temperatures in the range of 65° to 73°. Location - Indoor light. Irrigation - Water freely and provide extra humidity, never let them become dry. Grooming - Cut of the blighted leaves, new ones will take thier place. Light - Spahte flowers tolerate medium light.
